Tenure & Promotion

Tenure and Promotion reviews in the School of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering are governed by the guidelines and procedures set forth in Statement 11.

Reviews are conducted by the AS&E Committee on Tenure and Promotion–eight tenured members of the AS&E faculty elected by the entire voting faculty. At all times, the committee membership shall include at least two members of the Faculty of the School of Engineering and four members from the Faculty of the School of Arts and Sciences.

For non-mandatory cases, the tenure/promotion cycle begins on March 1 of the academic year preceding the review.

If you are interesting in discussing the T&P process or calendar, please contact the Secretary of the Faculty.

Promotion procedures for Assistant and Associate Teaching Professors can be found in Article 14 of the Collective Bargaining Unit (Full Time Lecturers Unit).
